EP 093: How to Upgrade Your Network

This has been a challenging email to write.

What I’m about to ask you to do isn’t easy.

but… is required if you want to have an incredible network.

One that propels you forward towards your goals like a rocket.

You are likely going to have some resistance.
You will likely come up with reasons why this doesn’t apply to you.

But it does…

Here we go…

The first and most important step in building a great network is removing the people who are holding you back.

In business and wealth building you can never outgrow a poor quality network.

They will keep you at their level one way or another.

If you spend your time with business owners not aligned to your goals, then you won’t hit your goals.

You will settle for less and pretend you changed your goals.

If you spend time with people who are not building their wealth or don’t have serious wealth, then you won’t either.

Think about it.

Look at the people you spend time with now.
I’ll bet you are similar to them

It’s rather amazing when you think about it.

Yes, it can be confronting

But…

A super power that can be harnessed.

The environment we place ourselves in shapes us.

You can pick what environment you want to be in!

Anyhow,

Nothing in this email is new or groundbreaking so far.

I have never met a business owner who didn’t know that a powerful network was important.

Which begs the question:

Why don’t all business owners have great networks?

I remember asking myself that question when I didn’t have the network I wanted.

The answer… to be honest, all I had was excuses…

  • I’m too busy running my business
  • It’s hard to find the right people
  • I don’t live near people who I wanted to network with

All BS

I just didn’t make it a priority because I didn’t think my network was the thing holding me back.

But it was…

Anyhow,

If you have made it this far in the email then it’s likely you want a stronger network that is going to help you achieve your goals.

As mentioned before…

The best place to start is by dropping the network that isn’t supporting you.

Let me explain why

1- The danger of continuing to spend time with them is you become more like them.

The more time you spend with them, the more embedded they become on you.

If you don’t believe me on this one.

Put the news on every night in your house and pay attention to how your thinking changes…

2- You need to free up resources to find and nurture the right network.

It’s going to take time and money to build a great network.

This is where many business owners go wrong.

( I know I did )

You put too little time and resources into networking in the early years.

I’m going to suggest that rather than putting in the minimum into networking you juice this up to be a key priority in your life.

Do you really think so many people would say “Your network is your net worth” if it wasn’t true?

A great network is an investment you want to make for the long term.

It compounds at a far greater level than any other asset.

Anyhow,

To take things further!
